Appointments
The majority of appointments are book on the day.
There are appointments in the morning and afternoon each day that can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance.
In order not to block the phone lines for on the day we would request that patients ring the surgery at a time that is convenient to them and not all at 8.30am. This will ease the access to the phone line.
You can book an appointment to see a doctor of your choice; however the doctors do not all work every day so if you wish to see a particular doctor you may have to ring back another day.
Please call the appointment line on 01462 480921; please note this phone is not answered between 13.00 -14.00.
Patients who need to be seen urgently will be offered an emergency appointment on the same day with any available doctor. It is not possible to request a specific doctor for urgent appointments.
Extended opening hours
Commencing July 2019, Sollershott Surgery is able to provide its patients with a limited number of additional telephone and/or face-to-face appointments outside of normal surgery hours. Our receptionists will be able to advise you whether these appointments may be suitable for you.
Be on time
Please arrive promptly and remember to cancel your appointment if you can no longer keep it; someone else may need to see the doctor urgently. The doctor or nurse may not see you if you arrive late.
Please cancel your appointment if you can no longer attend. If we are closed you can leave a message via the new telephone system to cancel your appointment.
Telephone consultations
If you would like to speak to the duty doctor or practice nurse on the telephone you can ring our appointments line on 01462 480 921. The receptionist will ask you for some details regarding your query to assist the doctor/nurse in preparing to deal with your call. You will either be given a time to call back to speak to the doctor/nurse or if necessary the doctor/nurse will call you when they are free. Please be advised that it may not be your usual or registered doctor that deals with your call.
Text message reminders
You can now register to receive information by text message on your phone regarding appointments and health care.

New Data Protection Regulations from May 2018 (GDPR)
Under the new data protection regulations introduced from 25th May 2018, we will continue to contact patients via text messages regarding the delivery of care if they have provided consent to do so.
If practices are sending messages about recommended treatment for the management of a specific health issue, then this is defined as providing appropriate care for patients, not marketing purposes.
Improving Access to General Practice
Patients are able to see a GP or another health professional in a local surgery Sollershott Surgery, 44 Sollershott East, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire SG6 3JW– between 6.30pm and 8.00pm on weekdays, 8.00am and 2.15pm on Saturdays and 9.00am and 12.00pm on Sundays plus Bank Holidays.
