Health Care Assistants work closely with the general nursing team within the GP practice and are mainly responsible for sterilising necessary equipment. Carry out patient health checks, re-stock all consulting rooms to ensure smooth running of clinics. Process any lab samples that need sending off to the hospital laboratory for further testing, you may also need to see a HCA for simple nursing duties such as blood pressure readings, phlebotomy or general health education (i.e. lifestyle advice)
