Repeat prescriptions can be arranged after consultation with your doctor.
Requests can be made in the following ways:
- Using the computer slips provided
- In writing
- Online via Patient Access – registration required to use this service
For safety reasons we are not able to take requests for medication over the telephone.
Please allow 48 hours for your repeat medication request to be processed, this excludes weekends and Bank Holidays. If you request a medication not on your repeat list it may take longer and you may be asked to book an appointment with doctor first. The doctor may refuse your request if they consider it is inappropriate.
Please be aware that we are unable to process any prescriptions given to you by private consultants or for dispensing at NHS hospitals.
If you wish your prescription to be posted back to you please provide a stamped addressed envelope, arrangements for collection of repeat prescriptions can be made through various local pharmacies.
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is now operational, please note that some medicines may not be able to be issued via EPS i.e. controlled drugs
Repeat prescriptions can now be sent electronically to your chosen Pharmacy via a system called EPS 2. You will need to go to the Pharmacy that you wish to collect your medication from to sign up to this service.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
